How to Create a Sidebar in Elementor

Creating a sidebar in Elementor involves using the Sidebar widget, which is available in the Elementor Pro version. Here’s how you can create a sidebar in Elementor:

  1. Edit Your Page with Elementor:
    • Go to the page where you want to add the sidebar and click on the “Edit with Elementor” button to launch the Elementor editor.
  2. Add a Section for Your Sidebar:
    • If your page doesn’t have a sidebar section already, you can add a new section for the sidebar. Click the “+” icon to add a new section, and choose the appropriate column structure for your sidebar.
  3. Add the Sidebar Widget:
    • In the Elements panel, search for the “Sidebar” widget or navigate to the “Widgets” > “Pro” category to find it.
    • Drag and drop the Sidebar widget into the section you created for your sidebar.
  4. Customize the Sidebar Widget:
    • Once you’ve added the Sidebar widget, you’ll see the widget’s settings panel on the left-hand side.
    • Under the “Content” tab, you can select the sidebar you want to display from the dropdown menu. This will list all the registered sidebars on your WordPress theme.
    • Customize other settings such as alignment, space between widgets, and more according to your preferences.
  5. Style Your Sidebar:
    • Switch to the “Style” tab in the Sidebar widget settings panel to customize the appearance of your sidebar.
    • You can change the typography, colors, spacing, borders, backgrounds, and other visual elements to match your website’s design and branding.
  6. Preview and Publish:
    • Once you’re satisfied with the design and styling of your sidebar, click the “Preview” button to see how it looks. Make any necessary adjustments.
    • Finally, click the “Publish” button to make your changes live on your website.
  7. Test Your Sidebar:
    • Visit your website to see your sidebar in action. Navigate to the page where you added the sidebar to ensure it displays correctly.
    • Test the functionality of the sidebar, such as clicking on links or interacting with widgets, to ensure everything works as expected.

By following these steps, you can create a sidebar in Elementor using the Sidebar widget from Elementor Pro. Custom sidebars can help you display additional content or navigation options on your website’s pages, enhancing the overall user experience.
