How to Create a Category Page in Elementor

Creating a category page in Elementor allows you to design a custom layout for displaying posts from a specific category on your WordPress website. Here’s how you can create a category page using Elementor:

  1. Install Elementor and Activate the Plugin:
    • If you haven’t already, install and activate the Elementor plugin on your WordPress website. You can do this by navigating to “Plugins” > “Add New” in your WordPress dashboard, searching for “Elementor,” and then clicking “Install Now” and “Activate.”
  2. Create a New Page or Edit an Existing One:
    • Go to “Pages” in your WordPress dashboard and either create a new page or edit an existing one where you want to display the category page. Alternatively, you can create a new page specifically for the category page.
  3. Add a Section and Columns:
    • Click on the “Edit with Elementor” button to launch the Elementor editor for the selected page.
    • Add a new section by clicking the “+” icon or the “Add New Section” button. Choose the desired structure for your section, such as the number of columns.
  4. Add a Posts Widget:
    • In one of the columns of your section, click the “+” icon to add a new widget.
    • Search for the “Posts” widget in the Elements panel or scroll down to find it.
    • Drag the “Posts” widget into the column where you want to display the posts from the category.
  5. Configure the Posts Widget:
    • In the Posts widget settings panel, you’ll find various options to customize how the posts from the category are displayed.
    • Under the “Query” or “Source” section, select the “Specific Category” option.
    • Choose the category you want to display posts from the dropdown menu.
    • Customize other settings such as the number of posts to display, layout, order, and pagination options according to your preferences.
  6. Design the Category Page:
    • Customize the design of your category page using Elementor’s styling options. You can change the typography, colors, spacing, and other visual elements to match your website’s overall design.
  7. Add Additional Content (Optional):
    • You can add additional content, such as a heading, introductory text, images, or other widgets, above or below the posts widget to enhance the category page’s layout and user experience.
  8. Preview and Publish:
    • Once you’re satisfied with the design of your category page, click the “Preview” button to see how it looks. Make any necessary adjustments.
    • Finally, click the “Publish” button to make your category page live on your website.
  9. Link to the Category Page (Optional):
    • If you want to include a link to the category page in your website’s navigation menu or elsewhere, you can do so by adding a custom link and setting the URL to the category page’s permalink.

By following these steps, you can easily create a custom category page in Elementor to showcase posts from a specific category on your WordPress website.
