Billboard widget is a very quick and easy way to display images in groups and each image can be linked to somewhere else, that could be to somewhere else on your site, as in the images we have on our Functions Showcase Page (in the right hand sidebar) where each individual image links through to a page on our site with more information OR you could have the image link through to something you are hoping to sell, for example an Affiliate product, the uses for this are endless.
An example of a Billboard layout can be seen in the sidebar on the right.
In this example if you hover your cursor over the images you can see we have the top two images both linking offsite to our Facebook and Twitter profiles and the bottom two images do not link anywhere, this is very useful to be able to control linking on a per image basis within a Billboard Group.
The widget that comes with Billboard is multi-use so you can make as many Billboard groups as you like (with each group containing from 1 to as many as you like images).
Once you have set up your new Billboard image group simply go to the widget area of your WordPress site and drop in a widget, select the group and you are good to go, couldn’t be simpler!
When we design a site for you, we can add in horizontal widget areas pretty much wherever you need them and they can be used in exactly the same way you would use the more traditional WordPress Sidebar (which is vertical and runs from top to bottom) – because of this you can then drop a Billboard widget virtually anywhere on your site, you are not restricted just to sidebar areas!
